Greater Dallas Pathology is a full-service, physician-owned and operated anatomic pathology practice. We offer the best in diagnostic services to fit the needs of all medical professionals. We have a team of subspecialty board certified physicians, very experienced laboratory histotechnologists and a capable staff eager to provide the clinician and their patients with the best quality patient care. We have cumulative diagnostic and histology experience exceeding 50 years. We provide in-house diagnostic services for benign, malignant, inflammatory disorders as well as manifestations of systemic disease and metastatic processes. We also offer primary diagnostic and as well as second opinion services.

Celeste Vardaman

MD

Dr. Vardaman is triple board certified, having anatomic, clinical and cytopathology subspecialty boards. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Vardaman earned her medical doctorate from the University of Mississippi after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry summa cum laude. She completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical pathology residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and then worked in private practice. Eventually, she returned to the Dallas area to complete a surgical pathology fellowship at UT Southwestern….

Emeka Etufugh

MD

Dr. Etufugh is triple board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology. A native New Yorker now calling Dallas home, he completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science summa cum laude from the City College of New York. He received his medical education at New York University School of Medicine followed by an internship in Medicine at St.Lukes/Roosevelt Hospitals, an academic affiliate of the Mount Sinai Health System. Ashley Garcia

DO

Dr. Garcia is a board certified clinical and anatomic pathologist with additional board certification in cytopathology. She specializes in interpretation of fine needle aspirations, gynecologic cytology, and surgical pathology.
Dr. Garcia attended college at the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She obtained her Master’s degree in Medical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Celeste Vardaman

MD

Dr. Vardaman is triple board certified, having anatomic, clinical and cytopathology subspecialty boards. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Vardaman earned her medical doctorate from the University of Mississippi after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry summa cum laude. She completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical pathology residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and then worked in private practice. Eventually, she returned to the Dallas area to complete a surgical pathology fellowship at UT Southwestern where she then joined the anatomic pathology faculty. During her tenure there, she led weekly Gastrointestinal, Surgical, and tumor board seminars and served on the credentialing committee for Zale Lipshy Hospital. She also served as director of the fine needle aspiration clinic at Parkland Hospital. She has published articles and presented grant-awarded research on thyroid and gallbladder diseases during her academic career. She has also been a speaker at various seminars at professional meetings in the United States and Mexico. She has now been in private practice with Greater Dallas Pathology for 30 years, focusing on gynecological, urological and dermatology related specimens as well as clinical laboratory management and quality assurance issues. Dr Vardaman is the medical director of LabCorp-Ft Worth laboratory.

Emeka Etufugh

MD

Dr. Etufugh is triple board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology. A native New Yorker now calling Dallas home, he completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science summa cum laude from the City College of New York. He received his medical education at New York University School of Medicine followed by an internship in Medicine at St.Lukes/Roosevelt Hospitals, an academic affiliate of the Mount Sinai Health System. He completed an internship in Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Woman’s Hospital before transferring to pathology, continuing his training at Baylor University Medical Center, where he completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Etufugh is well versed in the areas of general surgical pathology and cytopathology with subspecialty training in dermatopathology under the tutelage of world renowned dermatopathologist – Dr. Clay Cockerell at the University of Texas Southwestern and gynecologic pathology training under the tutelage of renowned pathologist Elvio Silva of MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has completed a Dermatology research/clinical trials fellowship under Dr. Tania Phillips at Boston University Medical center studying wound healing and artificial skin substitutes. Dr. Etufugh is also the medical director of LabCorp Dallas Regional laboratory and the director of dermatopathology for LabCorp-Dallas and Dianon pathology-Dallas.


Dr. Etufugh has published in various prominent medical journals and authored book chapters and is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology. He is also a member of the International Society of Dermatopathology, Dallas-Ft worth Dermatology Society, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologist, the North Texas Society of Pathologist, the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society, amongst other professional societies. In his spare time, Dr Etufugh enjoys reading, traveling and fishing. He is an avid outdoorsman, and sports fan.

Ashley Garcia

DO

Dr. Garcia is a board certified clinical and anatomic pathologist with additional board certification in cytopathology. She specializes in interpretation of fine needle aspirations, gynecologic cytology, and surgical pathology.


Dr. Garcia attended college at the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She obtained her Master’s degree in Medical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. She then began her medical training at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology was completed at the University of Texas at Houston. Following residency, she continued with specialized pathology training and completed a general surgical pathology fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital and a cytopathology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.


Dr. Garcia’s clinical interests include gynecologic pathology and thyroid and pancreatic cytology. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Texas Society of Pathologists, Dallas County Medical Society, American Society of Cytopathology, and College of American Pathologists. Dr. Garcia grew up in Austin, Texas and is proud to provide excellent pathologic care with Greater Dallas Pathology. She is medical director of LabCorp Cytology Laboratory- Little Rock. She lives in Dallas.
