Greater Dallas Pathology is a full-service, physician-owned and operated anatomic pathology practice. We offer the best in diagnostic services to fit the needs of all medical professionals. We have a team of subspecialty board certified physicians, very experienced laboratory histotechnologists and a capable staff eager to provide the clinician and their patients with the best quality patient care. We have cumulative diagnostic and histology experience exceeding 50 years. We provide in-house diagnostic services for benign, malignant, inflammatory disorders as well as manifestations of systemic disease and metastatic processes. We also offer primary diagnostic and as well as second opinion services.

Celeste Vardaman

MD

Dr. Vardaman is triple board certified, having anatomic, clinical and cytopathology subspecialty boards. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Vardaman earned her medical doctorate from the University of Mississippi after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry summa cum laude. She completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical pathology residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and then worked in private practice. Eventually, she returned to the Dallas area to complete a surgical pathology fellowship at UT Southwestern….

Ashley Garcia

DO
Dr. Garcia is a board certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with additional board certification in Cytopathology. She specializes in interpretation of gynecologic biopsies, gynecologic cytology, fine needle aspirations, and general surgical pathology.
Dr. Garcia completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Arlington and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then spent a year at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where she received her Master’s degree….

L. Jonathan He

MD
Dr. L. Jonathan He was trained as a physician scientist and board certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology. Born in Shanghai, China, Dr. He earned his medical degree from Fudan University in his hometown. He then moved to Texas, obtaining his graduate degree in physiological optics at the University of Houston College of Optometry. He later spent a few years in the medical device industry at Alcon Labs, then a subsidiary of Novartis, as a clinical infometrician and clinical project lead, where he gained extensive experience in clinical research operations, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration….

Celeste Vardaman

MD

Dr. Vardaman is triple board certified, having anatomic, clinical and cytopathology subspecialty boards. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Vardaman earned her medical doctorate from the University of Mississippi after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry summa cum laude. She completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical pathology residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and then worked in private practice. Eventually, she returned to the Dallas area to complete a surgical pathology fellowship at UT Southwestern where she then joined the anatomic pathology faculty. During her tenure there, she led weekly Gastrointestinal, Surgical, and tumor board seminars and served on the credentialing committee for Zale Lipshy Hospital. She also served as director of the fine needle aspiration clinic at Parkland Hospital. She has published articles and presented grant-awarded research on thyroid and gallbladder diseases during her academic career. She has also been a speaker at various seminars at professional meetings in the United States and Mexico. She has now been in private practice with Greater Dallas Pathology for 30 years, focusing on gynecological, urological and dermatology related specimens as well as clinical laboratory management and quality assurance issues. Dr Vardaman is the medical director of LabCorp-Ft Worth laboratory.

Ashley Garcia

DO

Dr. Garcia is a board certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with additional board certification in Cytopathology. She specializes in interpretation of gynecologic biopsies, gynecologic cytology, fine needle aspirations, and general surgical pathology.

Dr. Garcia completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Arlington and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then spent a year at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where she received her Master’s degree in Medical Sciences. Her medical training was completed at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology was completed at the University of Texas at Houston. Following residency, she continued with specialized pathology training and completed a general Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital and a Cytopathology Fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Garcia was privileged to work with and learn from numerous nationally renowned pathologists located in the Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Garcia’s clinical interests include gynecologic surgical pathology, as well as thyroid and pancreatic cytology. She has over five years of clinical experience, which includes time as Medical Director of LabCorp Little Rock and current Histology Director of LabCorp Dallas. She is an active member of numerous regional and national pathology groups and medical associations. Dr. Garcia grew up in Austin, Texas and is proud to have completed her entire education and medical training within the state of Texas. She is now honored to give back to the community by providing excellent pathologic care with Greater Dallas Pathology. She lives in Dallas with her husband and two children, where she enjoys reading a good book, gardening, and going on road trips with the family.

Dr. He went on to complete his pathology residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He then completed fellowship training, first in surgical pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) of Harvard Medical School and then in dermatopathology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. He’s dermatopathology training also includes time with Dr. Greg Hosler at Cockerell Dermatopathology, Dr. George Murphy at BWH Dermatopathology, and Dr. Ron Rapini at Smith Clinic. Throughout these advanced and extensive training courses, Dr. He developed deep expertise in diagnostic pathology along with a strong foundation in translational research, informatics, and digital pathology.
His diagnostic interests center on dermatopathology, soft tissue pathology, and integration of digital pathology and molecular genetic pathology into diagnostic practice. Dr. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and numerous national meeting abstracts. His work spans cutaneous oncology, targeted therapy-related skin toxicities, molecular biomarkers, and image-based quantitative pathology. He is the recipient of multiple awards recognizing excellence in research, teaching, informatics, and professional service. Dr. He is an active member of several national and international pathology organizations and is committed to academic scholarship, education, and innovation at the interface of pathology, technology, and precision medicine.
